Lift inner tube with one hand as near as possible to the height required, outer tube is kept steady by holding the base plate by foot.

By inserting pin through slot in outer tube passing through the nearest hole in the inner tube.

For final adjustments, it is done by turning the handle of Nut, on outer tubes threads.
